Kamagata Japanese Maple

Zones 5-9 Sun to shade.                                  Read All About Japanese Maples
Dwarf Group -green – Kamagata is one of only two trees ever selected by J.D. Verrtees, America’s number one expert on Japanese maples. It is a dwarf (3’ in ten years) with a delicate look, but it has proven itself tolerant to 0°F and has even performed well in sun and dry locations. Leaves are generally five lobed and widely separated like fingers. Each lobe is slightly toothed. The leaves are mainly a bright green, with red edges in spring and brilliant fall colors of yellow, orange, and occasionally some red tints. These plants grow very bushy and twiggy with lots of lacy side branching -eventually developing somewhat of a round shape.
