Okame Cherry Zones 5-8 Sun to light shade A profusion of bright pink blooms. Well-noted for very early blooming. Good golden color in the fall. Hybridized in England by Captain Collingwood Ingram. Awards: Award of Merit and Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society. Recommended by: United States National Arboretum. Cherries have been cultivated in Japan for thousands of years, and the origins of most of these hybrids are obscure. They are small trees growing about 10’ in ten years.
