Autumn Cherry

Zones 5-8 Sun to light shade
Autumn Cherry blooms in late fall after the leaves have dropped, providing one of the very few blooming plants at that time of year. Can continue blooming in warm spells until spring. Flowers are semi double and pink and can appear sporadically or in profusion depending on weather.
Awards: Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.
Recommended by: United States National Arboretum.

Cherries have been cultivated in Japan for thousands of years, and the origins of most of these hybrids are obscure. They are small trees growing about 10’ in ten years. They succeed in most any type soil in sun to light shade.
